All college students in work placements with employers were included in this system.

At regular intervals, tutors from the College would visit the student on-site with the employer and run through the students’ progress in their coursework and in their work role. This data would be entered into the Apprentice Tracking System, where trends in student progress could be monitored on an individual students or college-wide basis. This would also feed into the students Individual Learner Record (ILR).
