Using VirtualBox was a great introduction to virtualisation. However, once I began to use it to create permanently running services, I found that it was too slow to be useful.

As I had an spare computer available, I decided to try Proxmox Virtual Environment. As a Type One Hypervisor, it was able to continualy run a number of virtual machines to host different services.

I currently run VMs for Pi-hole, SearXNG, Twingate, TrueNAS, and FileCloud, for use in my home network
