After many years working with Microsoft products, I wanted to learn more about the Linux eco-system. Once I started looking, I found many projects based on Linux that I could try.
Having begun with the Raspberry Pi, I soon progressed to using virtual machines in VirtualBox where I could spin up a Linux machine, follow a tutorial, then close the machine down.
Having an old, spare computer to use, I installed Proxmox Virtual Environment, creating a dedicated system where I could create virtual machines without using the resources of my main PC. Within Proxmox, I have created virtual machines to run services such as Pi-hole, SearXNG and TrueNAS.
